Our treatment center uses nutraceuticals to address the biochemical component of addiction recovery. This is one facet of our treatment regimen and enhances the holistic approach we use.
Addictive behaviors and eating disorders have many causes. Among the many factors involved are brain chemistry (neurotransmitter) imbalances and nutritional deficiencies.
What makes our addiction treatment program so unique and innovative is that we not only treat the physical, psychological and psychosocial aspects of addiction, but also the biochemical ones.
One of our natural approaches is the utilization of nutraceuticals. Nutraceuticals are specific amino acids and other nutrients that are combined in various dosages to achieve pharmaceutical like changes in the body.
Proper Brain chemistry is Necessary for Wellness
Nutraceuticals work by supporting and restoring neurotransmitters (brain chemicals) necessary for health and a sense of calmness and well-being. When these neurotransmitters are absent or out of balance, feelings of depression, craving, fatigue and hopelessness can exist. Proper brain chemistry is necessary for wellness.
