At SLBTS Treatment Centers, we think outside the box… or rather outside the walls. Clients benefit from the innovative components of our unique programs, many of which take place outdoors, on the beach and even on the water.

It is not our philosophy to hide our clients from the liquor store or the drug dealer. Rather, we teach them how to walk by both, because life is so beautiful and enjoyable as a sober member of society.

For the past twenty three years, we’ve learned how to combine a top flight clinical staff with pristine residential facilities in the one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (sunny Newport Beach in Orange County) to create an incredible setting for men and women to change their lives.   

The experienced addiction and eating disorder counselors oversee the clinical activities and the client will be educated daily on their chemical dependency or eating disorder.  But there is only so many hours in a day that a client can effectively sit in groups and counseling sessions effectively. This is why the experience of recovering from addiction or an eating disorder in Newport Beach California is so beneficial.  Clients will have opportunities to enjoy many activities in the outdoors and exercise to rebuild their strength.  Newport Beach is the epicenter of Orange County’s incredible recovery community and there are literally 12-Step recovery meetings occurring non stop from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM (of course most clients will have a curfew during primary and extended care).  So not only are clients given top flight clinical support, but then in their off time they are exercising and experiencing the beauty and fun of Southern California’s outdoors, or attending community recovery meetings.  Sober Living by the Sea has literally thought through every moment of every day for their clients and the men and women who recover here are literally making positive progress towards a life free of chemical dependency or an eating disorder every moment of the day.

Newport Beach is the best beach town in Orange County which is the most vibrant part of California. Clients arrive here and begin a new life in a community that provides lots of support and fellowship for men and women overcoming alcoholism, drug addiction, or an eating disorder.  Our clients who finish primary care and enter extended care will have their beach cruiser and some freedom. While there might be potential temptations that come with our client’s well deserved freedom, there are also a ton of "life preservers" which we teach our clients how to use (like their support network, their recovery program, and their case manager who is always available).  Our clients will find successfully recovering people in Orange County’s recovery community that will become part of a recovery network that lasts a lifetime. Such a supportive community of recovery in a "real life" setting only exists here at Sober Living by the Sea, and is impossible find in a more traditional treatment facility setting.
