On October 20th, 2011, students from our T.E.A.C.H. program took a night trip to the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

You have probably heard of The Queen Mary which is a historic ship and popular tourist attraction.  But you may not know that in late October it becomes the spooky "Dark Harbor" Haunted Event. Twenty one of our T.E.A.C.H. program students had fun bonding with each other while being chased around the "Haunted Ship" by spooky monsters in amazing makeup and costumes.teach activities collage

This activity was part of the T.E.A.C.H. Program's curriculum which includes one "major social outing" per month (in addition to the daily outdoors activities that our clients participate in here at the beach).

Activities like the excursion to the Dark Harbor Event allow recovering students to use what they have learned in their separate individual recovery programs to successfully participate in a large social event and have fun in recovery.
