Drug & Alcohol Recovery
Sober Living by the Sea's substance abuse treatment programs have helped thousands of men and women who struggle with addiction reclaim their lives.
Comprehensive Treatment Programs for Drug or Alcohol Addiction
With many innovative programs designed to meet the needs of those suffering from both substance abuse and co-existing psychiatric disorders, Sober Living by the Sea is about "living" not just surviving by the seashore.
In the company of other recovering individuals and a staff of distinguished professionals, our patients receive individualized, comprehensive care based on the latest developments in medicine and psychoanalysis. With 23 years of experience treating patients in a safe, supportive environment, Sober Living by the Sea helps patients explore the underlying reasons for their addiction, rediscover their passions and interests, and create a long-term recovery plan that works for them.
Some of our world-class substance abuse treatment programs include:
- Sunrise Recovery Ranch for Men and Women - An acclaimed 30-day, co-ed residential primary care drug treatment center for men and women located in the Southern California foothills. The programs are specific to each gender, but the programs may interact with the other gender in some groups and activities.
- The Rose for Women - An exclusive 30-day, all-women's treatment center for drug and alcohol addiction and eating disorders, located just steps from the sand in Newport Beach, California.
- The Landing for Men - An exceptional 30-day alcohol and drug treatment environment for men in Newport Beach.
Clients suffering from both addiction and co-occurring issues such as trauma, depression, and anxiety will receive multidisciplinary care for all conditions simultaneously, using cognitive-behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, experiential therapy, hypnotherapy, and other cutting-edge treatments.

While our clients are undergoing treatment, our therapists and staff work with family members to understand the disease of addiction, how they have been affected, and what they can do to help themselves and their loved one. With education, workshops, and a new set of life skills, families are better equipped to resolve conflicts, build strong and healthy relationships, and support one another through the process of recovery.
World-Renowned Extended Care Program
At Sober Living by the Sea, we understand that 30 days of treatment may not be sufficient for all clients to achieve a full and lasting recovery. Research shows that when a patient spends more time living in a structured environment, with access to therapeutic services and support, he or she has the best chance to steer clear of drugs, alcohol, and triggers for disordered eating.
That's why we offer a 90-day residential extended care program that allows clients to continue treatment for their addiction or eating disorder while living with other recovering individuals and receiving plenty of caring support. As part of their individualized treatment program, patients will receive one-on-one and group counseling, family therapy, alternative and experiential therapies, vocational and educational guidance, referrals to community resources, and more. Our transitional work program allows you to continue working while living in a therapeutic community.
During this critical time, most patients need help rebuilding their lives, their work, their relationships, and their lifestyle. As patients grow stronger in their recovery, we help them begin to transition back into mainstream living, where they can work, meet new people, and gradually assume greater responsibility for their daily lives.
There's much more to life than the shame and suffering brought on by eating disorders and drug and alcohol addiction. If you need help, please don't put it off any longer. A healthy and rewarding life awaits you.
