At Sober Living by the Sea Treatment Centers, we think outside the box ... or rather outside the walls. Many of our activities take place outdoors on the beach and even on the water. Clients will inevitably try new things and expand their horizon and their thinking while building a strong foundation for recovery and connecting with others who are walking through similar experiences. Extended care clients learn how to build long term recovery while living life situated in the vibrant and beautiful community of Newport Beach.

The Victorian
Women's Eating Disorder Treatment Center of Newport Beach California - Honored by iaedp™

 NEWPORT BEACH , CA - The Board of Directors of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™) presented an Outstanding Service Award to The Victorian of Newport Beach. The awarding took place during the iaedp™ 19 th Annual Symposium August 4-7, 2005, in Miami, Florida, recognizing The Victorian and its staff for their hospitality and efforts in hosting the iaedp™ 2005 Mid-Winter Workshop and Board Meeting in Newport Beach, CA. Elizabeth Robertson of Sober Living By The Sea Treatment Centers was on hand to accept the award saying, “The Victorian is very proud to receive this honor and we look forward to playing a part in the 2006 Mid-Winter Workshop for iaedp™.”

The Victorian is located in beautiful Newport Beach , CA and is Sober Living by the Sea’s private treatment facility for women who suffer from eating disorders. Just blocks away from the beach, the Victorian rooms encourage a cozy and intimate family setting, rather than an institutional environment. According to Dr. Barbara Cole, Clinical Director of the Victorian and iaedp™ member, “ Over the past 4 ½ years, we have helped many women to transition from imprisonment within their own mindset and behaviors to a state of freedom, autonomy and independence. Families participate, along with Victorian clients, in becoming quickly and simply educated as to what an eating disorder actually is, where it comes from, and how to successfully heal from same. The calm, structured environment promotes integration into every day living without disordered eating. Clients can come into the Victorian at the residential level and then move on to the Lido Continuing Care Program, participating in a return to college, volunteer work or employment (or a combination of these activities).”

The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals is today well recognized for its excellence in providing first-quality education and high-level training standards to an international multidisciplinary group of various healthcare treatment providers and helping professions, who treat the full spectrum of eating disorder problems.
