Addiction Treatment Cost and Insurance Information

by webmaster last modified Jun 22, 2010 08:18 AM

Sober Living by the Sea has been treating addiction, alcoholism, and eating disorders since 1986 in Newport Beach. As a result of rehabilitating men and women who suffer from chemical dependency and eating disorders for over 20 years, we have an amazing network of treatment resources that you can learn about by calling us at 866.323.5609. We can help any person find treatment at the appropriate level of care that is within their means.

In contemplating the cost of treatment, we have found it helpful to make sure that men and women are aware of the cost of NOT going to rehab. Those who need to receive treatment for a life-threatening disease like addiction or an eating disorder should be aware of the high price of legal, financial, and family troubles that individuals often find themselves in. Of course, these types of woes pale in comparison to the health problems that develop as a result of addiction or an eating disorder.

Using Insurance for Rehab Treatment

Insurance can often help offset, and occasionally completely cover, the cost of receiving treatment at our facility. We have insurance verifiers and billing personnel on staff to help use insurance for drug rehab and eating disorder treatment.

We are happy to help by contacting your insurance carrier and processing a request to see what level of care is covered for you or your loved one. Collecting health insurance reimbursement for treatment received by our clients is a complicated process and there is not a list of providers that are definitely covered or not covered - every case is unique. For this reason, we treat every new phone call as if the person in need of treatment might be covered and we will contact their health insurance carrier on their behalf.

In order to accomplish this, our team of experts will need to complete an initial assessment of the drug or alcohol abuse or eating disorder and then contact the insurance company. All information we gather during our initial consultation is held completely confidential. The type of information that will expedite our inquiry into whether or not the insurance policy will pay for treatment includes:

  • Insurance Company
  • Phone Number
  • Behavioral Benefits Provider
  • Pay Type
  • Subscriber ID
  • Group Number
  • Policy Holder
  • Relation to Person in Need of Treatment
  • Employer
  • Length of Employment
  • Subscriber's SSN
  • Subscriber's Date of Birth
  • Person in Need of Treatment's SSN
  • Person in Need of Treatment's Date of Birth

Insurance Billing for Rehab Services Is Our Expertise

After 23 years of successfully helping clients arrange payment for the treatment program that is most appropriate for them, we have developed unparalleled expertise in navigating the often confusing process of arranging reimbursement from insurance companies for long-term treatment. Sober Living by the Sea's admissions and accounting departments have special knowledge and experience in helping our clients receive the best possible payment arrangement. In some cases, when treatment is required immediately, the client will pay in full and then we will work on getting some or all of their fees reimbursed by the insurance company.

Sometimes, the insurance company will indicate that residential drug rehab treatment is not covered (or is only partially covered). Often in these cases, there are aspects of the treatment process that are still covered by insurance (for example, prescription medications). We can assist you in reviewing the relevant health insurance policy to see if coverage is available for any and all parts of the treatment program we recommend.

Some of the insurance companies that we have worked with in the past include (note partial list only and every patient and policy are unique in what coverage will be offered by the carrier):
