Our treatment program is once again featured on television as the destination for a troubled individual.

Sober Living by the Sea has become a preferred destination for many of the television programs that chronicle men and women accepting help for the disease of addiction.

An episode of  Dr. Drew's Lifechangers that aired on November 1st, 2011 was a powerful show about two twin sisters' struggle against alcoholism  Vanessa and Jessica are lovely young girls who have so much potential that it is difficult to fathom how they could struggle with chemical dependency.  But what we have learned in our 25 years treatment is that addiction does not discriminate based on age, race, wealth, or any other reason.

The show centers on Vanessa who is a talented opera singer and piano player but has also been drinking daily for several years. Vanessa's life is slipping away and she feels helpless and alone.  Vanessa's drinking has led to life threatening situations yet Vanessa still has not stopped drinking for any prolonged period of time.

Their mom Julie is beside herself with fear and frustration.  Julie emotionally pleads for her daughter Vanessa to accept treatment and she agrees to do so.  Then, Dr. Drew and Lifechanger (and former Miss USA) Tara Conner turn the focus to her twin sister Jessica to convince her to also accept the gift of treatment.

Paige Willard from Sober Living by the Sea is called upon to tell Jessica a little more about what is waiting for her if she agress to go...

Here is a clip, and check back here to find out more and follow the saga:

I just saw this today (1-1-12) and am wondering how the sisters are doing now, two months after the show aired originally.
